Notice is hereby given that the Board of School Directors of the Milton Area School District will hold a public hearing pursuant to 53 Pa.C.S. § 8716 on July 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the MASD High School Literacy Café to discuss a proposed increase in the District’s Earned Income Tax (EIT) rate from 1.3% to 1.5%, effective July 1, 2026. The newly proposed EIT rate is estimated to derive $6,460,000 in annual revenue.
This increase is proposed to reduce reliance on real estate taxes and to provide additional revenue for the general operation of the public schools. If approved by the Board following the public hearing, the proposed tax increase will be submitted to voters of the Milton Area School District as a referendum question on the November 4, 2025 municipal election ballot. All residents are invited to attend and provide input.
The regular meeting of the Board, also held at the MASD High School Literacy Café, will begin immediately following the conclusion of the public hearing.
