Green Eggs & Ham...is it any good?! The teachers and kitchen staff prepared a classic dish for all of the Kindergarteners to try this morning. Before receiving their plate of food, many of the students were very excited about the thought of stepping outside of their comfort zone to sample the green food. :)

Some staff at JFB donned a few of their favorite condiment shirts to join in the fun for Character Day. The kindergarten teachers got together early for a before-school picture while our 1st-grade team modeled their construction gear after the parade. Kindergarten student Gracie C. and Miss Baker showed off their smiles while taking a break and Mrs. Swineford's kindergarten group poses for their picture in class.

1st-graders in Miss Bauer's class used glow sticks to show off their skeletal system after completing a unit on The Human Body.

On Friday afternoon, the second-grade teachers at JFB gathered all their students in the cafeteria for an activity. The students had finished learning about Early Asian Civilizations in their knowledge block of CKLA. Everyone decorated lights for Diwali, a holiday that symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance." The students also decorated lanterns for the Chinese New Year.

Members of the girls' soccer team took time away from training to read to groups of our elementary students. Even though the weather didn't cooperate, everyone involved said that the Literacy Night was a success!

Some 3rd-grade students had the opportunity to learn about, taste-test, and have fun with a few varieties of apples today.

Our STEM teacher, Mrs. McClelland, and one of her students find a fun way to pass the time with some of the extra cardboard from a recent project.

Miss Snyder's 3rd-grade class and Mrs. Herman's Kindergarten classes were the Shoe Bucket winners for September.
